'De Profundis' shortlisted for RCS award

After the successful premiere performance of 'De Profundis' written by John Wallace CBE last summer at the East Neuk Festival, the members of the Tullis Russell Mills Band have been delighted to find out that the composition has been shortlisted for a prestigious RCS 'Community/Education Project of the Year' award.

'De Profundis' is based on the 19th century plain chant hymn by Sir Henry Walford Davies and included spoken poetry, bird song, valve clicks and multi-phonic sounds and was received with widespread critical acclaim.
A band spokesperson stated: "Just being shortlisted is another excellent accolade for the Tullis Russell Mills Band at a time of major organisational change and rebuilding. Should the band win the award it would be a huge boost."
The winners will be announced on Wednesday 7th March at Drygate in Glasgow at the Scottish Awards for New Music.
