BRASS BANDS ENGLAND RECRUITS

THE BBW INTERVIEW: ‘THE PROFUNDITY AND SINCERITY OF THE MUSIC IS ALL THAT REMAINS’
One of the most dynamic figures in worldwide brass banding, Professor David King, recently returned to his native Australia with yet another title conquest - this time the British ‘National’. However, for the man dubbed ‘the green boy from the brown land’ when he arrived on British shores, musical greatness lies not in record-breaking statistics, but in the process of making music and educating musicians, as David Childs discovered when he caught up with the maestro.

‘THANK YOU FOR THE MUSIC BRIGHOUSE’
Led by Professor David King, Brighouse and Rastrick notched up its tenth British National last month against the backdrop of an intriguing and musically compelling contest on Howard Snell’s test-piece, Gallery, that emerged as one of the closest-fought battles in recent National Final history. BBW’s Chief Contributor, Christopher Thomas, brings the detail.

BBW CENTRE BAND – TALES OF THE NORTH SEA
