Brass Band of the Western Reserve celebrate 20 years
Brass Band of the Western Reserve from Ohio in the United States of America is celebrating its 20th anniversary this year. The band was formed in 1997 under the leadership of Dr Keith Wilkinson and has continued to flourish since its inception.
To mark this milestone in the band's history a work has been commissioned by eminent British composer, Philip Sparke. He penned a concert march for the band entitled Heritage, which was given its premiere performance during a special celebration concert on October 7th.
It was a superb evening of celebration and reminiscence featuring excellent performances by the band's soloists, as well as the world premiere of Heritage, all of which was very well received by the appreciative audience. The band will continue its celebrations throughout the 2017-18 season with four more concerts presented at Medina Performing Arts Centre, as well as several other concerts in the region, including the welcome return of Brett Baker next year as a guest soloist.
