A Musical Celebration for Eilir Williams

On the 25th October at 8pm in the University of Salford's Peel Hall a concert will be given to celebrate the life of Eilir Williams who sadly passed away last Christmas following a long battle with multiple sclerosis.

The first half will see the University Brass Band, conducted by Tom Davoren perform works in tribute to Eilir before a band comprising the late cornetist's friends from his days at Deniolen, YBS, Wingates and the NYBBW take to the stage under the direction of Michael Fowles. Cornet virtuoso, Mark Wilkinson is the guest soloist and will perform the premiere of 'Song for Eilir', composed for the occasion by Dr Robin Dewhurst.

It is sure to be a very special night musically celebrating the life of the banding world's popular personality and University of Salford Alumni. There is no charge for the concert, but admission is by ticket only, available from the following link https://www.ticketsource.co.uk/event/EMKLEI

There will be a collection made during the concert with all donations going to a new musical scholarship fund, set up in memory of Eilir to support young musicians of the future.
