Brass for Africa

Brass for Africa is a non-profit organisation that uses music to improve the lives of extremely disadvantaged young people in Uganda and Liberia. Currently Brass for Africa provides brass music education to over 600 children in the greater Kampala area each week. At the start of this new year, why not support the charity and the brass band communities they have established in Africa.

Here are two ways in which your band can support the charity.

Regular Giving: If you are able to add £1 per month to membership costs a band of 30 supporters would provide twice weekly music education for two disadvantaged children.

Become a partner: Consult the www.brassforafrica.org website for details of a range of partnership packages that could see your band experience a top guest soloist or conductor for a concert, receive a master class or workshop or even have a new work commissioned for your band.

There are many more ways to support this fantastic charity and Brass for Africa stands can often be found at the major brass banding events, where representatives are always pleased to welcome and say hello to anyone who is interested in finding out more about what Brass for Africa does and how to support the charity in its work. Further information can also be accessed via the website or by emailing info@brassforafrica.org.
