Centre Band: Brighouse & Rastrick
It’s been a cathartic time for the runner-up band at last weekend’s British Open - Brighouse and Rastrick (led by MD, Professor David King), which has undergone a transformative management change following the resignation of President, Paul Beaumont, in July and the appointment of a new Chairman, President, Treasurer and General Secretary.
The band also has a General Secretary - Matt Wade - and a new Treasurer - Leon Renilson. Alan Morrison remains as Band Manager and revealed: “The new management team is aiming to maximise the band’s name and potential in all directions.”
Looking ahead, Brighouse and Rastrick will be competing at the National Final in October and Brass in Concert in November, and said Alan Morrison, “We have a very busy diary until the end of the year, including a massed concert with Grimethorpe Colliery Band and Robert Childs on 22 October, in the newly reopened Huddersfield Town Hall, so it’s a very exciting time for the band.”
