Centre Band: Mach 5 for Concord
Concord Brass Band was established in 1957 by Herbert Møller, whose interest in brass bands was sparked by a Salvation Army Band visiting from England. He was walking in Copenhagen one day when a Salvation Army Band marched by and he fell in love with the wonderful, warm sound of a British-style brass band.
Herbert Møller made several journeys to England to pursue knowledge about brass bands, where he met Denis Wright, who became his close friend and eventually the mentor of Concord Brass Band, conducting the band on several occasions in Denmark and abroad. Little did Herbert Møller know that the establishment of Concord would be the beginning of the development of British-style brass bands all over Denmark…
