National Youth Brass Band Championships
Steve Jack was at the Royal Northern College of Music, Manchester on 17 April to witness all the action at the Brass Band England flagship event.
Elland Silver Youth Brass Band was crowned National Intermediate Brass Band Champion, winning an invitation to compete in the 2017 European Youth Brass Band Championships in Ostend, Belgium, which follows on from Elland’s recent appearance at the same event in Lille.
Elland competed against 11 other youth brass bands in the UK National Youth Championships, representing schools, music services and other independent brass bands from across the country, but it was Elland’s performance that caught the ear of the adjudicators to take the honours…
