BBW Interview: Matthew van Emmerik
Australian-born Adams Artist, Dr. Matthew van Emmerik, has just completed a major ‘Preserving Code’ project - Thomas Dunne caught up with the globetrotting euphoniumist to find out about find out about it.
Preserving Code is clearly a project that means a great deal to Matthew and he reflected: “I think the biggest highlight for me has been realising and understanding Code’s output beyond the repertoire discussed in this project. The work he did in developing the majority of symphony orchestras here in Australia was just incredible. He had a strong work ethic and was very popular with orchestral members, audiences, the press and the general public. It’s imperative that he becomes better known to people throughout the World because he is that important in culture and brass heritage in Australia.”
