Young Voice - Mina Kristine Ravndal
Norwegian bass trombone player, Mina Kristine Ravndal, is going places. The 20-year-old has returned home to Stavanger to study after spending her gap year at one of Norway’s leading folkehøgskoles - an experience she will treasure forever, as Mark Good found out.
How did you get involved in playing a brass instrument?
I started in my local school band, Tjensvoll skolekorps, when I was eight years old.
Have you always played the trombone?
I started out on a tenor horn and, after a year or so, I got to play tenor trombone. When I was about 15, I found a bass trombone in the storage room and I have played bass trombone ever since.
