Debut RNCM tops university challenge

Now in its seventh year, UniBrass welcomed over 500 student competitors on 18 February in a superbly organised event celebrating the very best of university-level brass banding. Thomas Dunne brings the action

The RNCM claimed the Unibrass Trophy in the band’s contest debut, whilst Durham University triumphed in the inaugural UniBrass Shield at the Harrogate Conference Centre.

The talented band of the RNCM showcased an impressive array of lyrical and technical expertise to claim the Trophy after competing jointly with Manchester University in previous years.
