Trinity College London

The exams board, Trinity College London, is changing the aural and improvisation parts of its exams for all instruments from 1 January 2017.

The changes have been introduced to improve the smoothness of progression and academic consistency from grade-to-grade. Candidates are now required to clap the pulse, stressing the strong beat, instead of indicating the pulse and metre by conducting in time with what the examiner is playing. The singing requirement has also been eliminated from Initial to bring it into line with the other grades.
